Assignment 4:Industrial Photo_Preliminary Lighting Diagram & Polaroid

Polaroid Composition 01

Polaroid Composition 02

Preliminary Lighting Diagram

The idea this time is to create the industrial Photo in a dark environment, capturing the inside light of the machine in a long exposure, and adding a theatrical kind of light on the subject in a faster exposure. That means that we will take at least two images with two different exposures to create a final image from these two plates in photoshop. We would like to add some light accents using portable flashes and snoots that pop up some important details in the machine as the control buttons, the door handle and/ or the machine logos.

The challenging part is to be able to control the lighting to add just what we need to pop up details, and to be able to work with a decent ISO when trying to create the image in this "pitch black" environment.

As we are shooting in dyads, we are planning to different compositions with almost the same set up, each composition with a different model who is doing a different thing: in the first option the model will be closer to the front door of the machine watching the inside process and tools. In the second option the model will be in front of the computer screen manipulating the control buttons of the machine.
